about foundations

Dr. Rachael Carreon PT, DPT, CBS
Rachael received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Daemen College in Buffalo, New York and is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. She and her family have called Charlottesville home since 2019. With over 12 years of clinical experience, she has focused her career on pediatrics and neuro-rehabilitation across a variety of medical settings.
Rachael has a particular passion for working with infants, especially those experiencing feeding challenges, oral ties, torticollis, plagiocephaly, body tension, gait impairments, and gross motor delays. Her background in oral motor therapy and infant development allows her to take a whole-body approach—recognizing that feeding, movement, and regulation are deeply connected.
Rachael believes every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. She is deeply committed to helping parents feel informed, supported, and confident as they guide their baby through the critical early years of development.

Foundations Pediatric Therapy and Wellness began in order to optimize treatment for your little one. After returning back to work from maternity leave herself, Rachael realized how challenging it can be to get proper, timely care. She set out to provide services that were more convenient for new parents, and that prioritized the patient-care experience.
Foundations is focused on educating parents through hands-on experiences that will help them foster their baby's motor development through private in-home therapy sessions and class-based services. Therapy sessions are individualized for your child’s specific needs. Screening for torticollis, flat head syndrome, body tension, oral ties, and milestone delay is also available.
